Successfull evacuation exercise at IMS Connector Systems GmbH

„Fire! What do we do?“
On the 24th of May at 4 p.m., the fire alarm at IMS Connector Systems GmbH in Löffingen went off and forced the 40+ employees to think about this question.
While most staff members went to the assembly point in an orderly fashion, six people were unable to leave the third floor because of dense smoke coming from the staircase.
Luckily, the fire brigade arrived quickly and used a fire engine equipped with a turntable ladder and rescue basket to rescue the trapped employees.
What sounds like a dramatic working day was fortunately only an exercise.
After just under 15 minutes, everybody was rescued and the saftey checks had been completed. Once everyone’s saftey was ensured, the working day continued.
„Through regular practice, potential risks are recognized faster“, says IMS CS CEO, Peter Peetz. „I thank the fire brigade for a good and successful exercise.“

IMS Connector Systems GmbH places great importance on the health and safety of its employees. That’s why the CEO planned this realistic exercise according to the disaster recovery plan in cooperation with the fire brigade of Löffingen. Exercises like this are also important for the fire brigade to gain valuable first-hand knowledge of the premises and the building, which is an important experience in case of emergency.
